In the simulation lab, we have the infrastructure to simulate bio-material at interactive performance and use it as a educational tool for training plastic surgeons. But current implementation uses a 2D web interface for the input to the simulator. It is very nature to use a VR device(Vive) to provide input to the simulator and it would be a great extension to the existing product. Most of the project should be quite will defined, one of the most challenging component would be designing a new mesh cutting technique for direct 3D cutting.

Link: http://nathanmitchell.graphics/publications/gridiron/

Project Type: It is a project that explore interactive physics based simulation in VR.

Interest: This is a project I would be interested to work on.

Device(s) to Be Used: Vive.

Things I Know How To Do: Graphics, networking, VR, Physics based simulation(I already have the code for simulation from my lab mate).

Things I Would Need Help With: Anyone can do any of the above.

Project Description: This project will explore interactive physics based simulation in VR.
