{"id":439,"date":"2013-11-09T03:33:05","date_gmt":"2013-11-09T03:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.discovery.wisc.edu\/wearablecomputing-13\/?p=439"},"modified":"2013-11-09T03:34:24","modified_gmt":"2013-11-09T03:34:24","slug":"week-2-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.discovery.wisc.edu\/wearablecomputing-13\/2013\/11\/09\/week-2-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 2 &#8211; Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Received the fabric, pulse sensor, and LEDs<\/li>\n<li>Made alterations to the jacket made of muslin (from week 1)<\/li>\n<li>Cut the pattern for the jacket out of the new fabric<\/li>\n<li>Determined the number of LEDs (from string lights) needed for the jacket and how they would be positioned on the jacket<\/li>\n<li>Ordered the proximity sensor and new LEDs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The LEDs I ordered (luckily only $0.50) were too large so I am purchasing smaller ones.<\/li>\n<li>I am not sure if the LED string lights will work after cutting them. \u00a0(Emelia sent sparkfun&#8217;s tech support an e-mail)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Successes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determined which proximity sensor to order. \u00a0Looking at an adafruit tutorial with Kevin, it seems as though the proximity sensor won&#8217;t be too difficult to get working, especially since they provided an example code.
