Signal Explorer Glove

The Signal Explorer Glove makes wireless signals visible to the naked eye, as colors on the back of your hand.

A bluetooth receiver in the palm of the glove measures RSSI to a connected device, and an LED on the back of the hand, diffused by a plastic demi-sphere (formerly a ping-pong ball), renders RSSI as a color.  As one’s hand moves through the environment, the color shifts smoothly from green, to yellow, to red, depending on strength of signal.

The physical form of the glove is a bit rough;  I had intended to leave more of the weird floral pattern covered, but ran out of time to put things together as planned.  I’d also either need to allot much more time for hand stitching, or use a machine.  And next time I push a needle through a ping-pong ball, I might want a thimble.
