So far the early weeks have been off to a good, but a slow start, as we are still waiting on some of the components to be delivered. However we have used the past week to solidify design specs, and prep the components we do have for early testing.
Stephen created concept sketches based on tech specs that were finalized by both Stephen and Sam. Stephen also finalized more of the design aspects, such as the types of fabric to be used and base color. The shirt will be double layered, with a soft knit under layer for comfort, and a outer twill weave for durability. Also there is going to be “pockets” where the electrical components will be sewed on to, and this will be in between the two layers of the shirt, while the EL wire/panels are connected to the outer layer.
Sam started making test code for the EL sequencer, as all the EL components have arrived. Before this, he placed the orders on the components, and researched tutorials about cutting EL devices. Next week there more advance coding will take place, along with creating the audio circuit (once the components arrive).
Roadblocks:
We are still waiting for all the audio component, but as of this week there hasn’t been that much physical progress (building actual circuits/shirt), so we are still in the design stage of the project.
Plans for next week:
Start gathering fabrics, build audio circuit, blueprint exact pattern for shirt/construction, finalize EL sequencer code.
