Weekly Report II

In the past two weeks we have gathered all the electrical components and started to gather the fabric.

Stephen gathered the fabrics and the blueprint for the t-shirt. Next week he will be starting to make the double layered shirt. The first iteration of the shirt will be a plain shirt without the EL devices in place, as the first goal is to get a functional well-fitting regular shirt, and then to modify it to incorporate the EL and audio devices.

Sam finished the microphone and aux cable circuit. However programming on processing the audio input has yet to be started. All the EL components have arrived and programming and testing with the sequencer has started. The programming was just experimenting with cycling the EL devices on and off. Next week programming to process the audio is the major task, and beginning to making a temporary prototype where the audio circuit can talk to the EL sequencer.

Roadblocks:

Spring break was a week of no face to face communication, so next week we will have to spend time talking more in-depth on where we are in the project. Also we did not have spare JST connectors (the connectors on the EL wires) so we were not able to cut any of the EL wires yet. However the JST connectors are shipped and on the way.

Plans for next week:

Start fabricating the T-shirt based off of our designs, program the audio detection code, and prototype the audio to EL sequencer connection.
